HOW GET THERE (and come back)
The Catacombs of Saint Callixtus are a short car ride by from the city center of Rome (about 20minutes) and by car is actually the best way to go. (Recommended)
UBER is available in Rome. Do not hesitate to download the App right here www.uber.com
On the same UBER App you can also choose a CAB if your prefer, or if you are somewhat literate in Italian you can also call the CAB service over the phone dialing +39(Italy) 063570.
As a last resort (NOT recommended) as the road outside is very narrow and particularly dangerous, as cars pass frequently and quite in a hurry, there are public buses that can get you nearby and these are the bus numbers:
118 from the Colosseum or the Circus Maximus
218 from the Basilica of San Giovanni
714 from Termini Station to Piazza di Navigatori (to which you can add a kilometer on foot)
660 from the Arco di Travertino Metro. The latter line is recommended in case of closure of the historic center.
You can buy your ticket online by downloading
the APP Mooneygo and click on ATAC_Roma, buy 1 BIT
The tour will last approximately 45 minutes. You will tour with a quailified guide along with a very small number of people of your same language.
The Catacombs are a sacred place, it is advisable to dress appropriately. The constant temperature is about 59°F/15 °C and there is a high level of humidity.
